KT to supply 5G network system at PyeongChang Olympics

South Korean fixed-line operator KT has signed an exclusive contract with an organizing committee of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics to provide a 5G network system at the upcoming sports event, The Korea Times reports. Under the terms of the agreement, KT will build infrastructure for a wired network of some 1,400 kilometers and a wireless telecommunication system that can accommodate up to 250,000 users for the PyeongChang Olympics.
