Friday 31 March 2017 | 12:29 CET | News
FIFA has announced the award of broadcast rights to the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Econet Media's Kwese TV secured exclusive free-to-air rights for sub-Saharan Africa, excluding South Africa, where SABC won the contract. Kwese will broadcast the tournaments through its African FTA channel Kwese Free Sports (KFS). Multichoice's Supersport channel acquired the pay-TV rights for the FIFA football tournaments in sub-Saharan Africa, while StarTimes and Canal Plus also obtained certain pay-TV rights in the region outside South Africa.
