Lack of consumer trust limiting app economy – study

Trust continues to be the largest obstacle to growth in the mobile content and commerce industry, according to MEF's third annual Global Consumer Trust report, which analysed consumer behaviour from 15,000 respondents in 15 countries. Almost half of all consumers surveyed (49 percent) said a lack of trust hampered the amount of apps they download, compared to 37 percent last year. In addition, over a third of respondents (34 percent) said trust prevented them from buying more goods and services using their mobile device.
