LatAm 4G penetration set to reach 90% by 2022 - study

LTE penetration in Latin America is set to surge from an average of just 21 percent in 2016 to 90 percent of total voice and data lines in 2022, according to the latest study from Dataxis. The 4G penetration rate is set to reach 35 percent by the end of this year, before rising beyond 90 percent in 2022 with the expected launch of 5G networks. Currently, the development of LTE networks remains extremely mixed with the strong adoption seen in some countries contrasting with Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic where the penetration rate remains below 10 percent, while in El
