LatAm mobile internet users to grow 50% to 450 mln by 2020

Wednesday 21 September 2016 | 11:41 CET | News
The number of consumers across the Latin American and Caribbean region using their mobile devices to access the internet is forecast to grow by 50 percent to 450 million by 2020, according to a new GSMA report. Published to coincide with the 'GSMA Mobile 360 – Latin America' event held in Mexico City, the study said the rapid growth in the number of mobile internet subscribers is due in large part to local mobile operators being able to successfully migrate existing customers to smartphones and mobile broadband networks despite having to deal with growing competitive and regulatory pressures.
