Mobile voice service revenues in Latin America are set to decline from USD 33.7 billion in 2017 to USD 27.1 billion by 2020 due in part to the growing adoption of OTT voice applications, according to a report from GlobalData. The fall is equivalent to a negative Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.0 percent, with the penetration of OTT voice applications such as Skype, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger in turn more than doubling from 13.9 percent in 2017 to 34.7 percent in 2020.
