LatAm VoD subscriptions surge to over 10 mln

The Latin American subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) market hit 10.2 million users at the end of 2015, some 60 percent more than the year-earlier figure, according to a report by Dataxis. The region had a total of 94 SVoD platforms at the end of the fourth quarter, generating USD 640 million in revenues. Netflix continues to dominate the video-on-demand OTT market, accounting for 60 percent of subscriptions, followed by Claro Video (America Movil) with 25 percent.
