Latvian govt rejects Telia plan for Lattelecom, LMT merger

The Latvian government has rejected a proposal to merge the fixed operator Lattelecom and the mobile operator LMT, reports Db.lv. The decision follows a proposal from the Ministry of Economy to start negotiations with Telia Company, which is the other major shareholder in both companies. The state had been expected to get a 51 percent stake in the united company.
