Liberty Global settles appeal against Kabel BW deal

Friday 13 February 2015 | 14:05 CET | News
Unitymedia KabelBW's parent company Liberty Global has reached a settlement with two competitors of the German operator. In 2011, Deutsche Telekom and NetCologne filed an appeal against the Federal Cartel Office's decision to approve Liberty Global's acquisition of Kabel BW in 2011. Following the settlement of their complaints, the appellants have withdrawn their appeals, and on 21 January, the FCO consented to the withdrawal. According to a filing by Liberty Global with the US SEC, the company agreed to pay the appellants a total EUR 183.5 million to settle the case.
