Liberty Global to introduce Docsis 3.1 in 2017

Monday 19 September 2016 | 09:37 CET | News
Cable operator Liberty Global will launch its first services over Docsis 3.1 in 2017, the company announced at IBC in Amsterdam. It's not yet known which country will get the faster services first. Liberty Global showed its new Connect Box home gateway, which unifies the modem, Wi-Fi router and base station for fixed telephony. First announced a year ago, this device is still based on Docsis 3.0. Liberty Global and its UK subsidiary Virgin Media also showed the new V6 set-top box, without releasing its specifications. The box does support 4K TV and reception of an IP signal.
