Line moves to operating loss in Q1 on cost of new services

Wednesday 24 April 2019 | 09:50 CET | News
Asian mobile messaging group Line ended the first quarter with JPY 55.3 billion in revenues, up 13.5 percent from a year earlier. Japan contributed three-quarters of the total, as the company expanded monthly active users there by 5 million in the past year to a total of 80 million at the end of March. Losses from new businesses led to an operating loss for the quarter as well as bigger net losses.
