Linkem applies for EIB loan for LTE roll-out

Wednesday 28 December 2016 | 15:31 CET | News
Italian wireless broadband operator Linkem has applied to the European Investment Bank for a loan of EUR 60 million to support its network expansion. According to the EIB, the project with a total investment cost of EUR 291 million would allow the company to migrate from Wimax to LTE TDD and to expand its coverage of Italian households from 45 percent at the end of 2015 to at least 70 percent by the end of 2018. The application is still under appraisal by the EIB.
