Liquid Telecom, Webafrica hit by DDoS attacks

Tuesday 29 October 2019 | 15:30 CET | News
South Africa's Liquid Telecom and ISP Webafrica have become the latest victims of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, ITWeb reported. This, after the City of Johannesburg and South African banks fell prey to cyber attacks last week. DDoS attacks occur when multiple systems flood the bandwidth or resources of a targeted system, usually one or more Web servers. Such an attack is often the result of multiple compromised systems (for example, a botnet) flooding the targeted system with traffic.
