Local authorities gain full access to planned fibre rollouts

French local authorities will gain full access to information on operators' fibre deployment plans under a law tabled in 2008, then amended under pressure from telecom federation FFT whose members did not want to reveal sensitive information to competitors. The so-called 'network knowledge' law states that GPS information about host infrastructure must be provided by the start of 2014, three years later than sought under the original bill.
