LTE subscriptions hit 250 mln milestone - study

The number of LTE mobile broadband subscriptions worldwide reached the milestone of 250 million in the first quarter of 2014, according to the latest figures from Ovum. The increased availability and affordability of LTE-capable devices is a major growth driver, but the researcher points out that deployments and usage are still at an early stage everywhere apart from North America, where LTE represented over one-third of mobile broadband usage in Q1.
