M2M device sales to hit 13.7 mln by 2022 - study

The number of mobile M2M terminals shipped worldwide in 2016 reached 4.9 million, up 28.0 percent year on year and are set to continue rising at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.8 percent to reach 13.7 million in 2022, according to data from Berg Insight. North American and Asian vendors currently dominate the market, with Cradlepoint, Sierra Wireless and Digi International the largest vendors in North America, while SIMCom is the main manufacturer on the Asian market. Combined, these four vendors generated close to USD 415 million in revenues from M2M terminal sales in 2016,
