Macra proposes rules for TV white spaces

Thursday 8 October 2015 | 11:11 CET | News
Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra) has proposed rules that will help in the use of Television White Spaces (TVWS). Macra's Director of Telecommunications Lloyd Momba told the World Radio Communication Conference 2015 (WRC-15) preparatory meeting in Lilongwe that the rules allow unlicensed radio transmitters to operate in broadcast television spectrum, at locations where it is not being used by licensed services. Momba said this will allow the efficient use of the spectrum, Malawi News Agency reported.
