Magyar Telekom backs remote work amid coronavirus crisis

Magyar Telekom announced most of its employees are working remotely as of 16 March in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Magyar Telekom says its headquarters in Budapest is the largest office building in the country with 5,000 employees. As of 16 March, only 400 of the network's supervising and customer service staff remained in the headquarters. Magyar Telekom scaled its remote access VPN so that all telecommuters can access the internal system at the same time. After a successful development test on 13 March, the company asked its colleagues to telecommute until further action.
