Russian internet group Mail.ru is in talks with China's Huawei about the possibility of having its software installed on the Chinese company's devices, Mail.ru told Reuters. Mail.Ru owns the Russian social networks Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki. It is developing several messenger services and has an email and browser service.

Mail.Ru confirmed the talks, but provided no details, said Reuters. Huawei did not reply to a request for immediate comment, it said.

Russian internet search engine Yandex is in talks with Huawei about having its digital assistant Alice installed on smartphones from Huawei, reported Vedomosti citing Alex Zhang, the vice-president of Huawei CBG and president of Huawei Mobile Services. Zhang said he hopes for a good partnership, as Huawei's devices need a voice assistant.
