MainOne secures USTDA grant for fibre study

Nigeria's MainOne Cable Company has secured a USD 550,000 grant from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to support a feasibility study on the extension of a fibre-optic network from Lagos to Port Harcourt. CEO Funke Opeke said the grant will enable Main One to evaluate the technical and financial feasibility of extending approximately 300 miles of undersea fibre and supporting infrastructure between two of Nigeria's most important commercial centres.
