Majority of Germans doubt trustworthiness of email

Around two-thirds of German internet users say they sometimes doubt whether an email is from a legitimate sender. The figure is from a survey by Dimap for the German Institute for Trust and Security (DIVSI) and found that only 33 percent feel rarely uncertain about whether an email is real. Over-65s were somewhat more likely to doubt the provenance of email, at 70 percent sometimes or often uncertain, compared to 60 percent of under-35s.
