Malawi govt set to award digital TV migration deal to Huawei

The Malawian government is poised to award the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) infrastructure contract to Huawei, IT News Africa reported, citing the Malawi News Agency. The digital migration coordinator at Malawi's Ministry of Information, Dennis William Chirwa, said the deal has not yet been cemented but initial negotiations were held on 11 May and it expects to undertake further discussions soon and award the contract to Huawei. Digital transmission is expected to be sent by November.
