Malawian civil society bodies say 10 GB mobile bundle costs half average monthly income

Malawi civil society organisations (CSOs) have asked the government to reduce the cost of ICT services, especially internet and mobile service, in view of the suspension of physical meetings, Nyasatimes reported. Leaders of the Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR), Youth and Society (YAS) and Rights Education Programme and Collaboration on International ICT policy for East and Southern Africa said currently, a monthly 10 GB bundle costs MWK 15,500 with both TNM and Airtel, which is about half the monthly income of the average Malawian.
