Thursday 5 March 2020 | 13:55 CET | News
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has announced plans to launch six NFCP projects, under the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP) in 2020. The NFCP is designed to reduce the digital divide through the expansion of coverage and improvements in the quality of fixed and mobile broadband, as well as lay the foundation for 5G networks. Overall investments in the six projects are estimated to reach MYR 3 billion and will be fully funded by the USP Fund. MCMC expects these projects to create nearly 20,000 jobs over the 5-year implementation period.
