Malta consults on DTT spectrum licence

Malta telecommunications authority MCA opened a consultation concerning the assignment process and respective licence conditions associated with the award and use of radio spectrum channels in the sub-700MHz band. The consultation is being held as a result of the expiry of the existing spectrum licence for digital terrestrial services in May 2021, the obligations arising from the decisions published by the European Commission concerning the harmonisation of spectrum in the 700MHz band for 5G mobile broadband services, together with the goals identified in the National Roadmap for the UHF band
