Malta fixed broadband subscriptions increase 4% in year to June

Monday 20 September 2021 | 11:36 CET | News
The Malta telecom authority's Q2 report shows the telecommunications sector exhibited continued growth in contract mobile plans and a notable jump in mobile data consumption, alongside further growth in take-up for fixed data services on fast and ultra-fast download speeds. The Covid-19 pandemic continues to reduce roaming traffic, although volumes are slowly recovering, the MCA said. Furthermore, take-up increased for pay-TV services, with subscriptions up 2 percent year-on-year, whilst the fixed telephony subscriber base stood relatively unchanged.
