Malta's telecom authority sees increase in number of complaints in H1

Malta's telecommunications authority MCA said the increase in use of communications services during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in an increase in the number of complaints received by MCA during H1. MCA recorded a 15 percentrise in complaints between January and June when compared to July and December of 2019. 

The MCA also recorded a surge of 42 percentin the number of enquiries received when compared to the previous 6 months, with a total of 404 requests for received information. 

Approximately 61 percentof the ECS complaints received during H1 related to quality of service (QoS) followed by billing issues (21 percent). Other complaints received by the authority related to termination and switching of services (9 percent) and contractual issues (9 percent). This report provides information on the main findings for the period covering January to June.
