Marvell buys Aquantia in transaction valued at USD 452 mln

Monday 6 May 2019 | 14:57 CET | News
Marvell Technology has acquired US-based Ethernet specialist Aquantia for USD 13.25 per share in cash, or USD 452 million in total. Marvell said the transaction will complement its portfolio of copper and optical physical layer product offerings and extend its position in the Multi-Gig 2.5G/5G/10G Ethernet segments. In addition, the buy should help push its strategy for automotive networking, as the industry increasingly adopts Ethernet in-vehicle networks, with the speeds to enable level 4 and 5 autonomous driving.
