The Masmovil group and Orange topped Spain’s mobile portability figures in December, a month that saw a total of 622,500 changes of operator, according to data published by website economiza.com. Masmovil’s main brand gained a total of 13,800 lines, while its Yoigo, Pepephone and LlamaYa brands added 16,500, 5,200 and 4,600 lines respectively for a net total of 40,100. Orange Spain also had a positive month, gaining a net total of 24,300 customers thanks above all to its Orange and Simyo brands.

The month’s big loser was Vodafone, which shed a total of 70,600 customers despite gains of 4,500 lines at its Lowi discount division.
