Mauritel ends 2012 with 2.01 mln customers

Maroc Telecom's Mauritanian subsidiary Mauritel ended the 2012 financial year with 2.01 million subscribers, an increase of 15.2 percent from 1.75 million in 2011. Annual revenues rose by 14.3 percent to MAD 1.38 billion, reinforced by the mobile segment, whose service revenues rose 22 percent thanks to growth in the customer base, an increase in outgoing consumption (+11%), and the stabilisation of rates (-1.2%). The fixed-line customer base was stable at 41,245 lines, while the internet customer base expanded 2.5 percent to 6,887 clients.
