Maxcom to invest MXN 600 million in 2016, plans OTT service

Mexico's Maxcom Telecomunicaciones is planning to invest MXN 600 million this year, including for the possible launch of a video streaming service, a market dominated in Mexico by Netflix and Claro Video, as well as to become an enabler for MVNOs. In an interview for El Financiero, the CEO of Maxcom, Jose Gomez Obregon, said that the project to sell TV as a wholesaler through the OTT format is at an advanced stage, but the company has yet to decide the right time to launch the service.
