MaxLinear announced an agreement to acquire Marvell Technology's G.hn business and activities in Spain for USD 21 million. The acquisition, expected to close in Q2, is expected to strengthen MaxLinear's position in the wired home broadband market, adding to its MoCA connectivity portfolio. MaxLinear announced the deal alongside fourth-quarter results showing sales down 12 percent year-on-year to USD 87.1 million. Its gross margin improved to 57.8 percent, and operating costs were down 35 percent year-on-year. This helped the company move to a net profit of USD 8.3 million or 12 cents a share
