Media and entertainment to gain USD 1.3 tln from 5G over next decade

Friday 12 October 2018 | 10:15 CET | News
Experiences enabled by 5G networks are set to account for close to USD 1.3 trillion of mobile revenues over the next decade (2019-2028), according to a study commissioned by Intel and conducted by Ovum. The report says that as early as 2025, around 57 percent of mobile media revenues worldwide will be generated by the super-high-bandwidth capabilities of 5G networks and the devices that run on 5G. The low latency of the networks means that no video will stall or stop, with live streaming and large downloads happening "in the blink of an eye."
