Media Broadcast only applicant for German DVB-T2 licence

The licensing and supervision commission (ZAK) of the German media authorities has received only one application for a DVB-T2 operating licence. The applicant is German broadcast network operator Media Broadcast. The commission will now examine whether the conditions specified in the tender have been complied with and if the licence will be allocated to Media Broadcast. This decision will be made during the meeting of ZAK on 17 March. The transition from the current DVB-T standard to successor system DVB-T2 will commence in the first half of 2016 in the first urban areas, with nationwide
