Media Institute for Southern Africa urges decrease in data prices in Zimbabwe

The lobby group Media Institute for Southern Africa (Misa) Zimbabwe said the government should revise downwards the internet tariffs being charged by local mobile network operators, as the high cost of data was infringing on citizens' rights to information about the spread of Covid-19. Misa said expensive internet services continue to be a privilege for the rich while leaving out the vulnerable and marginalised citizens who also need information about the disease.
