Media Markt, Saturn to introduce contactless payments

German retailers Media Markt and Saturn now accept MasterCard and Visa credit cards at all their German stores and announced plans to introduce contactless credit card payments and mobile payments on smartphones nationwide in the autumn. NFC-enabled POS terminals are being implemented for the new payment systems; by autumn, all the 3,500 terminals in the 417 German outlets will be fitted with NFC so that they can accept contactless and mobile payments.
