Media Networks to launch Ka-band broadband via Amazonas 3

Media Networks, the B2B unit of Telefonica, will launch a broadband service in the Ka-band in several Latin American countries, via Hispasat's recently launched Amazonas 3 satellite, reports Brazilian portal Teletime. Currently, the service is only provided in Mexico. The project will require a total investment of USD 250 million, including satellite space, infrastructure and equipment, with the construction of two teleports, in Chile and the US. They will be controlled and monitored from the existing teleport in Lima in Peru. In the first phase, the service will be available in Brazil,
