Mediapro to seek EUR 50 mln damages from Prisa

Spanish broadcaster Mediapro has announced that it will be seeking up to EUR 50 million in damages from media group Prisa after claiming victory in a long-running dispute over football content rights. Shortly after Spain's Supreme Court declared void breaches of contracts signed back in 2006, Mediapro said it would be applying for the damages in compensation for the bankruptcy proceedings it was forced to enter at the time due to its inability to make a payment to Prisa. The dispute between the two companies, which came to be dubbed the "football war", resulted in Prisa cutting the signal to
