Mediaset ad revenues up 2.4% in Q1

Italian broadcaster Mediaset announced that its advertising revenues increased by 2.4 percent in the first quarter of 2017 compared to the year-earlier quarter. The improved sales figures were revealed by Publitalia's general manager of marketing and operations, Matteo Cardani, at a meeting of the company's board of directors called to approve its 2016 results. Mediaset had earlier reported an operating loss of EUR 189.2 million in 2016 compared to a profit of EUR 231.4 million in 2015, mainly attributed to a EUR 341.3 million loss resulting from Vivendi's aborted deal to acquire its pay-TV
