Mediaset, Atresmedia told to stop advertorials

Spain's communications regulator CNMC has issued a warning to the broadcasters Mediaset Spain and Atresmedia over the excessive use of advertorials promoting their own content during programmes. The watchdog accused both Atresmedia (on its channels Antena 3 and Neox) and Mediaset (on its channels Telecinco, Cuatro and Divinity) of broadcasting superimposed promotional still and animated messages over programmes, invading a large part of the screen and damaging the integrity of the programme and the interests of viewers, who have no way of avoiding them. The regulator warned the broadcasters
