Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset said it has been awarded over EUR 25 million in damages after winning two legal actions brought against Vivendi's online platform Dailymotion and US portal Veoh. In a statement, Mediaset said a Rome court ordered Dailymotion to pay over EUR 22 million in damages for illegally publishing some 15,000 copyrighted videos totalling 30,000 minutes of viewing time, plus EUR 85,000 in legal costs. In 2019 Mediaset was awarded EUR 5.5 million for 995 videos posted on Dailymotion.
