Mediaset confirms Pier Silvio Berlusconi as new CEO

Italian broadcaster Mediaset has announced the appointment of Pier Silvio Berlusconi as its new CEO, confirming reports that the 46-year-old son of former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi was set to replace Giuliano Adreani, who has been CEO since 2000. Pier Silvio Berlusconi also retained his role as vice-president, while Adreani will continue as chairman of advertising unit Publitalia and will advise the new CEO on advertising strategy and relations with key investors.
