Italian broadcaster Mediaset reported revenues of EUR 2.53 billion in the first 9 months of the year, down 1.2 percent from EUR 2.56 billion in the year earlier period. However, the company's operating profit (EBIT) surged to EUR 194.7 million from EUR 29.5 million the previous year thanks to a turnaround in Italy, where EBIT rose to EUR 9.4 million from a EUR 141.2 million loss, and a rise in Spain from EUR 170.7 million to EUR 185.2 million. As a result, the group's net profit came to EUR 35.9 million compared with a loss of EUR 118.0 million for the same period of 2016.
