MediaTek grows quarterly net profit 64%

MediaTek reported first-quarter operating profit up 64.3 percent year-on-year to TWD 3.169 billion, benefiting from a small increase in revenues and lower SG&A costs. The company's gross margin was 40.7 percent, up 1.8 percentage points sequentially and up 2.3 percentage points year-over-year, and net profit rose 34.8 percent from a year ago to TWD 3.416 billion.
