Megacable not dominant player following PCTV buy - IFT

Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has concluded that pay-TV operator Megacable has not obtained substantial power in the pay-TV market following its acquisition of 66 percent of TV distributor and producer PCTV, reports Terra. The deal was reached in June 2014 but the regulator launched an in-depth investigation to ascertain whether the merger gave Megacable substantial market power. In May the IFT announced that it would also investigate whether Megacable could be classed a dominant player in the triple-play services market following its acquisition of pay-TV operator TV
