Megafon to start LTE on 800 MHz band in St Petersburg

Russian mobile operator Megafon has started work on the launch of its LTE network on the 800 MHz band in the city of St Petersburg, reports Tdaily.ru, The services are provided over the FDD standard, on 5 MHz of spectrum. The use of the 800 MHz band is expected to improve indoor coverage. Russian mobile operator Beeline already uses the 800 MHz band for LTE services in the city of Moscow.
