Megafon uses blockchain for payment

Russian mobile operator Megafon has performed a payment transaction using blockchain technology, claiming a first in the country. Russian banks Sberbank and Alfa-Bank acted as partners on the transaction, which was sent to the company MegaLabs, a subsidiary of Megafon. The transfer totaled RUB 1 million. The electronic information exchange was carried out using a de-centralised PC network containing nodes that inter-acted over the Hyperledger Fabric protocol, using the IBM Blockchain technology.
