Mellanox Technologies unveiled at Optical Fiber Conference (OFC) 2017 a new line of 200Gbps silicon photonics and VCSEL-based transceivers in the same QSFP28 package as today's 100Gbps products. These new transceivers double the bandwidth for hyperscale Web 2.0 and cloud 100Gbps networks, the company said.

Mellanox is also introducing at OFC 200Gbps Active Optical Cables (AOCs) and Direct Attach Copper Cables (DACs), including breakout cables, to allow for 200Gbps Ethernet networks. Melanox also launched a new line of 100Gbps silicon photonics components to serve the growing demand of hyperscale Web 2.0 and cloud optical interconnects. The new product line provides module makers with access to a fully qualified portfolio of silicon photonics components and optical engine subassemblies.

Mellanox will showcase at OFC live demonstrations of all its products in switching, network adapter and copper and optical cables and transceivers. Mellanox will also showcase live demonstrations of its 100Gbps switching, network adapter and copper and optical cables and transceivers products. It will also demonstrate interoperability of the Mellanox Silicon Photonics 100Gbps PSM4 with Innolight, AOI, Oclaro, and Hisense transceivers in both the Mellanox and the Ethernet Alliance booths.
