MENA subscription video market set to surge, Starz Play dominates

The online subscription video market (OTT) currently stands at around 25 percent of the pay-TV market in MENA but this will increase to more than 50 percent by 2020, according to a study by market research company IHS Markit. Starz Play, which has just celebrated its third anniversary, is leading with 26 percent of the market, compared with Netflix at 16 percent and IcFlix at 11 percent.
