Meo notifies antitrust authority of PT Live takeover

Meo has notified Portugal's Competition Authority of the purchase of the entire stock of electricity provider PT Live, with whom the telecommunications operator launched the Meo Energia service, reports Dinheiro Vivo. The operation is still under scrutiny by the competition regulator and is another step in Altice Portugal's business diversification strategy. Meo Energia covers the Portuguese market, except the islands of Madeira and Azores, as the electricity sector is not liberalised in the autonomous regions.
